Hot Water Solutions WA install hot water heat pumps across Perth, but their Google Ads account was bleeding money. The campaigns were bidding on broad, expensive plumbing keywords rather than heat pump specific terms, so they were paying premium prices for clicks from people who wanted something else entirely. Quality scores were poor across the board, which pushed costs higher again. Heat pumps are not a high margin product, so a cost per lead sitting around $400 left almost nothing on the table. They needed the ads fixed, and they needed a long term channel that would let them ease off paid spend over time.

The Challenge

What We Did
- Rebuilt the Google Ads account from the ground up, splitting campaigns tightly by service rather than running everything through broad plumbing terms
- Built extensive negative keyword lists to cut out the irrelevant and expensive plumbing traffic they were being charged for
- Tightened keyword targeting to heat pump intent specifically, lifting quality scores and bringing click costs down
- Reworked the landing pages for conversion: shorter scroll to the enquiry point, easier contact options, and trust signals placed early to establish them as credible heat pump installers
- Started a parallel SEO campaign with ongoing blog content batches, so organic could take load off paid over time
- Site structure work with our developer Michael: keyword led page rewrites, new pages, 301 redirects and menu restructuring
- Schema markup implemented across the site

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
What Scott Says
“The ads were costing us a fortune and bringing in the wrong jobs. Connor pulled it apart, rebuilt it properly, and we haven’t looked back. Three years on we’re booking work every day and we’ve doubled what we spend because it keeps paying for itself. The SEO side is building nicely on top of that. Straightforward to deal with and the results speak for themselves.”
